A Moodle Partner in the US, Nigeria, the Caribbean, and Canada, eThink recently offered a free webinar for experienced Moodlers and first-timers alike to showcase the new features in Moodle 3.3.
At the four-minute mark, Jeremy Schweitzer describes Moodle to the newcomers, touching on the “modularity” to which it owes its name, and important attributes including the open source nature of the project and the importance of a global community for its ongoing development.
After the ten-minute mark, Moodle 3.3 features finally come into focus, starting with the dashing Course Dashboard. An illustration shows how each course in which a student is currently enrolled displays a small completion pie chart and how completing an activity in them shows a graphical update instantly.
The webinar also shows the following new features in action:
- “Grade by” reminders for teachers
- File type restriction in assignments
- Bulk Activity edit and update
- “Stealth Activities”
- Individual tagging in Glossary entries, Book chapters, and Form posts
- OAuth 2.0 authentication integration.
The recording ends with a Q&A session by users around the 40-minute mark.
