From the Moodle Hub we found a “Managing Users in Moodle 3.0” course, developed, sensibly, in Moodle. It is part of a series of Moodle tutorials that at the same time work as demos, developed by RTR Learning in their customized Moodle platform.
The “Managing Users” course covers in detail the addition and deletion of users, over the course of 4 modules. Upon access to each module, an activity will open a new tab with an Adobe Captivate player.
- Adding a user.
- Adding multiple users, via a CSV spreadsheet file (includes sample).
- Deleting users.
- Understanding and setting user authentications.
A message recommends IE, Chrome or Safari browsers to access the activities. I tested in the latest version of Mozilla successfully.
It is a self-paced offering without assessment or grading, and also without certification of completion.
Other courses in the series are “Navigating the Moodle 3.0 Interface” and “Managing Categories, Subcategories and Courses in Moodle 3.0“.
It is interesting to note that RTR Learning is a division of RTR Digital, a small technology business from Dallas. With their community initiative of offering free training on Moodle, they hope to gather more presence in social media to
“increase the public’s ability to discuss and solve the problems facing modern education“.
