Restriction By Language Plugin Shows Your Multilingual Moodle In Your Students Language

The Restriction By Language plugin allows instructors to set access to content to students according to the language they speak.

Moodle includes filters for language in courses developed in many languages, through a plugin. To activate them, instructors should add HTML tags to portions of content for each different language, and the tags should include the standard language code. This process can be cumbersome for less technical types. And even for those who are savvy, other types of media content, like videos or PDFs cannot be filtered. This is where the Restriction by Language plugin can be helpful.

Once activated, the plugin shows a menu for each content, where you can set access permissions according to a student’s language.

Belgian Renaat Debleu is the man to thank for Restriction By Language. He is a partner ofHong Kong learning technologies company eWallah, and an individual MUA member from Mexico. Debleu must know a thing or two about talking to international audiences.

The latest version was released in early September and is compatible with Moodle 2.7 on, but it might not work properly on the Moodle Mobile app.
